István Vörös (born in 1964) is a poet and novelist, as well as essayist and literary historian. The head of Western Slavic Studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, he is also a highly prolific translator from Czech into Hungarian, and a recognized expert on modern Czech literature. He has been teaching creative writing at Pázmány Péter since 2004. Vörös has been awarded the prestiguous Attila József Prize, among others.
